Win-Win Cooperation丨Demonstration Platform Project of Ship Energy Efficiency Improvement Officially Launched

On February 28th, SMDERI held a launching meeting for the Demonstration Platform Project of Ship Energy Efficiency Improvement. This is another cooperation between Shandong Shipping Co., Ltd (SSC), Shanghai Maritime University (SMU) and SMDERI after the transformation of ship environmental protection equipment such as OCCS and LFSS.
The three parties will take the launch as an opportunity to focus on the development and application of ship energy efficiency enhancement system, strengthen the sharing of high-quality resources, and actively promote the in-depth integration of industry, academia, research and application, so as to contribute to the realization of the green transformation of the global shipping industry. Representatives from research institutes, important clients, partners and others were invited to attend the project launching meeting.
Xu Tao, general manager of SSC reviewed the rich cooperation experience and important achievements of the three parties in the field of green and low-carbon shipping, and was full of confidence in the development and application of ship energy efficiency enhancement system in his speech. He said that the company will give full play to the advantages of innovative fleet resources and full-scale ship testing to further build a closed-loop cooperation mode of ‘technology R&D - fleet validation - standard output’, and contribute China's solutions to the low-carbon transformation of global shipping.
Shi Xin, vice president of SMU, pointed out in his speech that ship energy efficiency technology is the key to deep explorations in energy cycle chain of ships, energy efficiency improvement and less dependence on fossil energy. In the future, SMU will make every effort to promote the ‘Demonstration Platform of Ship Energy Efficiency Improvement’ in three aspects, namely, core technology research, international standards and compound talent cultivation.
Qiu Aihua, deputy director of SMDERI, pointed out in his speech that the launch of the Demonstration Platform of Ship Energy Efficiency Improvement is an innovative outcome of the three parties' complementary strengths, cooperation and upgrading. As a provider of key equipment integration and optimization solutions, SMDERI will take a variety of independently developed marine low-carbon technologies as the core, solidly improve the technical advancement and practicality, and make every effort to ensure the engineering landing.
At the launching meeting, the project leaders from the three parties respectively made a special sharing from the technical principle, application prospect, solution, future products and other directions of the ship energy efficiency enhancement system, which provided the guests with innovative ideas and inspired the resonance of the representatives of industry, academia, research and application.
