On May 22 local time, Shanghai QiYao Environmental Technology Co., Ltd. (SMDERI-QET), a subsidiary of CSSC, presented its independently developed Onboard Carbon Capture and Storage System (OCCS), Fuel Gas Supply System (FGSS), and LNG Sub-cooling System (LSC) at BARI-SHIP 2025 in Imabari, Japan. While demonstrating China’s technological strength to the global maritime industry, the company also prioritized expanding cooperation in the Japanese market and accelerating its strategic layout in East Asia.

As a premier exchange platform for the Asian shipping industry, BARI-SHIP draws leading Japanese and global shipbuilders, equipment suppliers, and industry experts to jointly explore pathways for low-carbon transition. SMDERI-QET’s OCCS features a modular design compatible with mainstream Japanese vessel types, enabling significant reductions in operational carbon footprints. The FGSS offers exceptional safety and stability, meeting Japan’s stringent environmental regulations. The LSC improves fuel storage efficiency, delivering economically viable and environmentally friendly solutions for Japanese shipping operators. At the exhibition, SMDERI-QET engaged visitors with technical briefings, case studies, and interactive experiences, attracting representatives from major Japanese firms such as Imabari Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. expressed strong interest in future collaboration.

Having specialized in marine environmental protection for over a decade, SMDERI-QET tailored its exhibit to meet the specific needs of the Japanese market, optimizing technical compatibility accordingly. Given Japan’s high expectations for technological reliability and environmental standards, SMDERI-QET aims to deliver customized decarbonization solutions through localized partnerships, working together with Japanese stakeholders to meet the International Maritime Organization (IMO)s emissions reduction goals. Moving forward, SMDERI-QET Environmental will leverage its technological strengths and localized service network to deepen collaboration with Japanese supply chain partners, jointly advancing the green transformation of the East Asian shipping industry.
