2024-05-07

On May 7, 2024, SMDERI QET, received the bulk order for the Methanol Fuel Supply Unit(MFSS)of 8 new 16,000TEU methanol dual-fuel container vessels (Shipowner: Evergreen Marine Corporation ; Shipyard: Imabari Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.) . The significant bulk order follows the supply system for VLCC methanol dual-fuel ships and marks another major breakthrough in order acquisition.

The integrated Methanol Fuel Supply System(MFSS) independently developed by SMDERI QET is designed according to the characteristics of methanol dual-fuel engines, capable of providing stable fuel supply to multiple engine terminals. In this project, the methanol fuel supply unit, as the core component of the system, will simultaneously supply methanol fuel to one methanol dual-fuel main engine and four methanol dual-fuel generators. The equipment is functionally comprehensive, operationally convenient, and features high reliability and maintainability.

This cooperation marks the first collaboration between SMDERI QET and Imabari Shipbuilding, representing an important step for both parties to join hands in the green shipping. As a world-class shipbuilding enterprise, Imabari Shipbuilding, with its subsidiaries, possesses strong shipbuilding capabilities. This partnership signifies that the methanol fuel supply unit independently developed by SMDERI QET has gradually gained recognition from mainstream domestic and international clients.

As one of the earlier companies to focus on the field of marine environmental protection equipment in China, SMDERI QET has extensive experience in the development and design of clean fuel supply systems and a professional technical team. In addition to methanol fuel supply systems, products such as Fuel Gas Supply System (FGSS) and LNG Sub-cooling System (LSC) have also been highly recognized by a wide range of clients.

Aiming at future regulations, SMDERI QET has now completed the research and development of the Ammonia Fuel Supply System (AFSS), and the full-process AFSS test platform has completed the matching tests with the ammonia dual-fuel engine independently developed by SMDERI QET.
